As the annual awards season kicks starts in Bollywood, Lokmat hosted its own set called the Most Stylish Awards of 2019, last night. We must say it was one big and beautiful gala, with all the whose who of the industry strutting the carpet in what they thought was their stylish best. However, our style desk has it’s own verdict on their outfit of the nights. Scroll down to take a look at who hit the spot and who missed on our fashion meter….
Padmaavat actress, Deepika Padukone looked like a queen of flowers as she strutted down the carpet in a red colour floral, Sabyasachi designed drape accompanied by a plunging neckline choli. Her outfit pick was spot-on and so was the jewellery and the roses adorned hairdo, but her makeup wasn’t. DP’s outfit is a hit but makeup is a miss!
Just like Deepika, Kriti Sanon too brought a floral game on the red carpet of this award’s night. Kriti won us as she donned this red flower print crop, lehenga and a sheer jacket from Shehla Khan. However what we felt was off in her look was the presence of that diamond necklace. We wish she had given those precious stones a miss.
The ever so well dressed Malaika Arora was in a rather boring avatar. We don’t know if it was a deliberate move or Miss Arora did not have an other option. Whatever may be the reason, we think it was a total style miss. While the top half was boring the bottom was frumpy. Needless to say, Malaika looked beautiful.
Hitting our style meter right on spot is Manushi Chhilar. Simple hair game, dewy makeup and a super fab outfit pick. We are simply floored by Manushi. She is already making way for herself on our style desk.
Nushrat Bharucha in a sequence replete drape from Manish Malhotra. We love the saree but not the velvet choli. Blame it on the fit and the fact that this fabric isn’t complimenting the sheen of the sequences. Apart from that Nushrat is looking just fab.
Taapsee Pannu in a Falguni And Shane Peacock saree. While the metallic makeup idea is good and so is the saree ensemble from one of our favourite designer labels. But the execution is not. It falls flat on our style radar. It is quite evident why! We’ve seen Taapsee pull-off better looks on the carpet.
Yami Gautam in a classic saree avatar. Yami has only one thing going against her in this look, the silhouette of the choli. It is too old for her. A skimpy choli would have looked better.
Talking about a skimpy choli, Amyra Dastur gives a perfect example with this designer saree. Simple, sexy and elegant all at once.
