Srishti Jain on taking a risk to move to Punjabi film industry

Actor Srishti Jain made a huge impact with her TV stint as she was last seen as the leading lady in Zee TV show, Hamariwali Good News. But now she is all set to make her debut in Punjabi films as she will be seen playing a lead role in a Punjabi action and romance film. The actor is both nervous and excited about making the shift, because she has been doing TV for many years now.

Talking about it with ETimes TV, Jain said, "After my show Hamariwali Good News wrapped up, I was determined to try a different medium. I wanted to explore the web or films. I felt it is important to grow and do different things than just be restricted to one thing. It also gives me scope to hone my acting skills. So, when the opportunity for a Punjabi film came up, I decided to take the risk because it also meant opening the door to other opportunities. In the past few months, I have done a lot to get fitter and also grow as an actor. The film is power-packed and falls in the action romance genre in the industry. It’s a gamble to move to Punjabi film industry, when you are settled in television, but risks pay off!"

Talking about her being polished as an actor, she said, "TV polished me as an artist. I faced many challenges but it was worth it. I started at 18, I’m 25 now! I gave quite a few years to the industry, and it gave me back so much more! I am not bidding adieu to television, I am just trying out a newer platform."
