'Splitsvilla' fame Prianca Shharma on getting married in 'chapals' to Belgian beau

Marriages and engagements seem to be a constant for a long time now as soon as there was a bit of leniency in COVID-19 rules earlier. However, the cases are currently at an all time high and hence some rules are being imposed again.

It seems that may or may not have been the reason for actor and former Splitsvilla contestant, Prianca Shharma to getting married to Belgian beau, Adrian Vankeirsbilck.

Now a married woman, Shharma opened up on it in an interview with ETimes. She said,“Adrian left his job as an architect in Belgium and came to India to explore the country on a bicycle. He believes in living a minimalistic life and when we met, I couldn’t believe the fact that I had come across someone who was even crazier than me! We started dating just before the pandemic hit us. Once the lockdown was announced, I thought he would move back to Belgium, but he chose to stay and give our relationship a try. It was challenging to live in a small house when we barely knew each other. But the lockdown gave us a chance to spend a lot of time together. We fought, argued, cooked, talked and had a great time. That's how we fell in love and decided to get married.”

Shharma suffered a broken marriage earlier and this new phase of falling in love again and getting married happened when she least expected it. Talking about it, she said, “I got married in 2016 and within six months, I got separated and it was a very difficult time for me. I went through a lot of pain and felt that I would never marry or fall in love again. I never expected that just four years down the line, I would meet someone, who I would want to spend the rest of my life with. As a child, I had always imagined an extravagant wedding and my first wedding was a lavish affair. However, this time, I wanted to keep it simple and sweet. Also, due to Covid, I didn't want to risk anything and only invited family. In fact, I was wearing simple chappals for my nuptials."
