Only yesterday evening, ardent fans of Sony TV's crime drama C.I.D. were left disheartened when news of the show going off-air had begun to circulate. In fact, actor Dayanand Shetty who plays Daya in the show also confirmed the same.
However, a statement from the channel suggests that the show is not going off air, but taking a break.
The statement reads -
"Having completed 20 years, CID is the longest running cult show on Sony Entertainment Television. It has been a great journey so far, along with Fireworks Productions, and CID will now take an intermittent break starting 28th October 2018. The last episode of the show will be aired on 27th October 2018. The show will gear up for a renewed season with a lot more contextual cases keeping alive the thrill that the audience has experienced so far."
The show that ran for 21 years, was popular amongst the audience of all age groups. The core cast of the show consisted of actors Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman, Aditya Shrivastav as Senior Inspector Abhijeet, Dayanand Shetty as Senior Inspector Daya and Dinesh Phadnis as Inspector Fredricks.

Not sure.. but I have a feeling that the statement is just to cover up. Reading the confirmation from dayanand Shetty, looks like CID is gone for good.
