Actress Sonali Bendre and her husband, filmmaker Goldie Behl, are embroiled in a legal dispute, facing allegations of fraud and regulatory breaches related to a land transaction in Pune's Maval area.

Sonali Bendre lands in land fraud case

A report from NDTV details the claims of Chandrakant Shinde, a local farmer, who asserts that his family holds ancestral rights to roughly 30 gunthas of land located in Uksan, Maval. These rights, he states, predate 1957.

Shinde further alleges that Goldie Behl acquired the land without properly acknowledging these established ancestral claims. The farmer's complaint also brings to light supposed attempts at unauthorized construction activities on the disputed property.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, there are also allegations of threats being made against the farmer's family in connection with this land dispute. These alleged threats were a significant factor in the decision to file the formal complaint.

What Sonali Bendre’s legal representative said

Sonali Bendre and her legal representatives have officially refuted the accusations made against her. Bendre herself has stated that her name is not present on any official government documents or land transaction records. She has characterized the allegations as unfounded and believes they are being made with the intent of financial gain.

The case has been brought before the Civil Court in Vadgaon Maval, initiated by a petition filed by Chandrakant Shinde. The farmer and his family are asserting their continued ownership of a 30-gunta land parcel, which is approximately 32,000 square feet in size.

Because the dispute is civil in nature, it is currently being handled through legal proceedings. Raju Shinde, who is acting as the legal representative for the actor, mentioned that the complainant had previously taken their case to several government bodies, including the Tehsildar and the Sub Divisional Officer (SDO). However, these appeals were ultimately dismissed.

Chandrakant Shinde has named Sonali Bendre, Goldie Behl, and two other individuals as parties in this legal case. The court has scheduled the next hearing for April 20th, and further developments are expected on that date.
