Sonakshi’s Selfie Triggers Ramayan Controversy Yet Again; Trolls Attack with Nasty Comments

It looks like actress Sonakshi Sinha has become a trolls’ favourite after the Ramayana controversy. She sparked a debate online when she made an appearance on Amitabh Bachchan’s show Kaun Banega Crorepati and failed to answer a question on the Indian mythology Ramayana. Sonakshi was trolled mercilessly on social media for not knowing for whom the Hanuman got the Sanjeevani booti.

This incident had turned fodder for the trolls brigade for the longest time and has not stopped yet. Sonakshi took to social media to share a flawless selfie and captioned it in a quirky way: “#SundaySelfie because I dont know what day it is anymore Face with rolling eyes #lifeinthetimeofcorona #LockdownLife.”

Little did she know her humorous caption would trigger the Ramayana controversy yet again and serve an opportunity to the trolls once again. In no time, Twitteratis poured in nasty comments and bashed the actress. One user wrote:  “sara dhyan bas body me lagaya hai. thoda dhyan dimag pe bhi laga lo,” while another took a dig “Well u also forgot about Ramayan characters as well.”  “Smartphone pe hi day likhe rakhta hai, ek dum baklol ho ka?” came another comment and the trolls continued: “Star Plus par Ramayan aa rahi hai dekh lena.”

Recently, Sonakshi had opened up about being repeatedly trolled for an honest mistake and said: “I participated with a contestant named Ruma Devi. A question was asked to us on Sanjeevani Booti, and for a moment, both Ruma and I went blank. Honestly, it was a bit embarrassing, since we have grown up reading and watching Ramayana. But it was really long ago, and we all tend to have moments when we go blank. Since then, it has been five to six months, and it’s disheartening that people still troll me over one honest mistake.”
