Sonakshi Sinha was not Keen on Doing Dabangg? Reveals ‘Nobody Asked me, I literally had No Choice’

A costume designer turned actress Sonakshi Sinha made her big Bollywood debut in 2010 with Salman Khan starrer action drama Dabangg. The cop movie opened a new pathway for the actress as she went on to make her mark in the movies with her distinct performances in films like Lootera, Akira, Noor, and the latest flick, Mission Mangal.

Currently, Sonakshi is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, the third part of the cop series titled Dabangg 3. Recently during the promotions of her film, she revealed that she never had plans of entering the movies and one day she was just told to do Dabangg. She says she had no choice but to do the film.

“Acting was never on the cards. One day, I was just told there was this film I was suited for and I was doing it. Nobody asked me, I literally had no choice,” Sona told Mumbai Mirror in an interview.

However, Dabangg went on to become a blockbuster film, and Sonakshi was lauded for her debut performance. She received a lot of love and appreciation from the audience and adds that she is grateful for all the love coming her way.

“I couldn’t be luckier, my debut film made me a hit with the family audience. Many tell me they want a bahu like me. It’s embarrassing but sweet too,” Sona added.

Talking of Dabangg 3, the film is a prequel to the earlier Dabangg films. While it reprises the characters of Chulbul Pandey and Rajjo, played by Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha respectively, the third installment features Saiee Manjrekar, who will be making her big Debut with this Prabhu Deva directorial.

Directed by Prabhu Deva, and produced by Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan under their respective banners of Salman Khan Films and Arbaaz Khan Productions, the action drama also stars Sudeep, Arbaaz Khan, Pramod Khanna, and Dimple Kapadia.

Dabangg 3 releases on 20 December 2019.
