8 years ago, Ship of Theseus hit screens on July 19, 2013, which was led and co-produced by Sohum Shah. The drama film was released in 2013 and explored questions of identity, justice, beauty, meaning and death through the stories of an experimental photographer played by Aida El-Kashef, an ailing monk played by Neeraj Kabi and an enterprising stockbroker, played by Sohum.

Speaking about the same, Sohum Shah says, "Ship of Theseus is a very important film in my resume, both as a producer and an actor. The unprecedented success and acclaim it received, laid the foundation for Tumbbad. It gave me the confidence that I could be an outsider and still leave a cultural impact."

Adding to this, Sohum says, "It was my very first attempt at carving a very specific identity for myself and for that it will always be special. Besides, I found lifelong friends while making it, which counts above all else."

Sohum Shah has time and again treated the audiences with his hard-hitting and realistic characters as he believes in opting for author-backed roles instead of portraying larger than life characters on screen.

He was last seen in Maharani where his work was not just critically praised but even the audience loved his character.
