'SOCIAL MEDIA' will now decide the 'FATE' of actors!
Judging an actor's capability based on his social media fan following is 'IDIOTIC' - Kanwar Dhillon

We all know that social media is becoming increasingly present in our society. To make big on TV, there were five basic essentials: talent, looks, timing, a winning headshot and a good agent.
For generations, young actors have risen through the ranks of their school drama clubs, local theaters, and cameos before finally cracking in the mainstream acting profession. But these days, those looking to score big need to add another item to the list - A sizeable social media following!
And this was proved when Kanwar Dhillon, the star face of Star Plus' much-awaited show 'Nastik' posted a status on his social media which read:

Armed with this piece of information shared by the actor, we contacted Kanwar who shared, "Somebody from the industry told me about this and if this at all is true, it is very sad to see where and how the industry is progressing. I am there on social media for fun and there are many actors who have a million followers out of which I believe only half of them are genuine. So if one keeps a tap on the follower count for self-satisfactory reasons, it's fine, but judging an actor's capability based on his social media account is uncalled for. There are bigger actors who are not active on social media at all, does that mean they don't get cast for Bollywood films and TV shows?"
