SIYA KE RAM

The presentation of Ramayan and Mahabharat over the years has undergone several changes. Be it in the form of star cast, sets, costumes, cinematography or graphics, the depiction of mythological shows on television has only enhanced. The narration of various historical epics may be different, but the morale is always the same. The recent addition in the league of mythological shows is 'Siya Ke Ram'.

However, it's not just any other show. In the daily soaps, the line 'Sita Ki Agni Pariksha' has been literally hackneyed, but never did anyone think about the deep emotions, thoughts that were gushing in Sita's mind. For the first time in the Indian television history, Ramayan is being narrated from Sita's vision. Siya Ke Ram has been conceptualized to showcase the unseen version of Ramayan from Sita's perspective.

THE STORY SO FAR...

Janak and Sunaina are childless. Since 12 years, there has been no rain in his kingdom Mithila. The drought has left many people suffering. Janak is upset with the condition of the fields and the people. He distributes all the relief sent to him by Ayodhya's king Dashrath among the people of his kingdom.

Sunaina blames herself for the condition of the kingdom. On the order of a priest, Janak builds a golden sickle. The moment he begins to plough, he discovers a baby girl. The baby's cry causes rainfall in Mithila.

Thinking about the baby, Janak confirms whether the baby girl has a family or not. He takes her to Mithila, where he is left shocked when the baby lifts the Shiv Dhanush. He accepts the baby girl and names her Sita.

On the other end, a bad dream makes Dashrath worry about his children. Ram and his brothers have gone to Guru Vashisht's ashram. He sends someone from his kingdom to inquire about his sons.

WHAT'S GOOD?

A complete family show; quite informative for the children.

What works for the show is that here, the hero is Sita. Though it's not a woman-dominated show, women can easily relate to it.

The star cast of the show is completely impressive and flawless. The passion with which they perform makes the show look like a movie.

The parallel depiction of Mithila and Ayodhya is quite interesting and successfully holds one's attention.

Though it's been just two episodes old, it would be too soon to review the graphics of the show.

If the show continues to be crisp, it would certainly succeed than the usual daily soaps. Besides, the time slot of the show is also a convenient one.

WHAT'S NOT?

It would be too soon to judge about whatâ€™s not working out on the show, as so far, it looks impressive.
