Singer R. Kelly Arrested on Federal Sex Crimes Charges in Chicago

American Singer and record Producer, R. Kelly was arrested on federal sex crimes charges in Chicago by New York police detectives and investigators along with the Department of Homeland Security on Thursday night. He is expected to be taken to New York City, as per reports.

According to reports, the arrest happened nearly five months after the singer was released on bail for additional sexual abuse charges brought by Illinois prosecutors. The 52 year old singer faces 13 count sex crime indictment. However, he has been denying the allegations since decades. In 2008, he was tried for child pornography but was found not guilty. 

In June, Kelly was pleaded not guilty on 11 counts of sexual crimes and abuse at a hearing in Chicago. However, in late May, those indictments were presented by a Cook County grand jury, which involved alleged abuse of a victims between the ages of 13 and 16.

In March 2019, Kelly in an interview with Gayle King, insisted on his innocence and blamed social media for the allegations.
