Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, alias Sidhu Moose Wala, a Punjab singer-politician, was gunned down on Sunday evening in Jawaharke village, Mansa district, Punjab. The tragedy occurred a day after Punjab pulled 424 people's security, including Moose Wala. This action was conducted as part of the Bhagwant Mann administration's effort to combat VIP privilege.
Balkar Singh, Moose Wala's father, has filed an FIR with the Punjab Police Department, revealing that his son had been receiving death threats over the phone from various gangsters from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. At City-1 Mansa Police Station, District Mansa, an FIR was filed against unidentified people under sections 302, 307, and 341 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act, as ANI reported.
The singer's father, who is 28 years old, also stated that he witnessed his son's attack.
"On Sunday, my son left with his friends Gurwinder Singh and Gurpreet Singh in a Thar car. He did not take the bulletproof Fortuner and the two guards with him. I followed him in another car with the two armed personnel. Within minutes, the cars sped away. I started shouting and people gathered. I rushed my son and his friends to the hospital where he died,"
Singh said in his complaint, reported by NDTV.
CCTV evidence shows a Sedan and SUV tailing Moose Wala's car on Sunday evening, just after he left home, according to the police. Meanwhile, Sidhu Moose Wala's father has penned a note to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, asking an investigation by the National Investigation Agency and the Central Bureau of Investigation. According to reports, Sidhu Moose's family refused to conduct an autopsy on the singer's body after he was shot dead on Sunday. A special investigative team has also been created by Punjab Police to investigate into the case.
