Things did not seem to be merry just as producers, Deeya and Tony Singh's show, Mere Dad Ki Dulhan was about to go on-air. As you would remember, the show witnessed a case filed against them by producer Preeti Sapru who claimed that her upcoming Punjabi film had the same concept and had registered the concept back in 2017. Here are the full details.
However, the show went on-air as per the schedule and has now become over two episodes already. So, what happened with the show being filed with a suit after all. Leading lady, Shweta Tiwari, whose entry in the show was telecast in the latest episode reacted on the news. Tiwari said that just half an hour before the press launch, Deeya (Singh) came back from the court. She further confirmed that they indeed won the case and the show is already on-air, so there is no controversy.
On the whole saga, Singh was quoted saying, “We had narrated the show to the channel in 2017, and we have emails to prove it. We had thought of the idea and shared it as well before Preeti registered it."
The show revolves around Amber Sharma (Varun Badola), a 50-year-old single parent to an ambitious 24-year-old daughter Niya (Anjali Tatrari) and their recently moved in neighbor 40-year-old Guneet Sikka (Shweta Tiwari).
