We don't think it is a secret but to the many people out there who, in case don't know - a TV/film is the finishes product of an array of takes and preparation. This becomes all the more challenging if an equally challenging scene in nature is being shot. There are several scenes that might get intense to shoot and give retakes for, and one of them indeed has to be a slap scene.
On that note, Sony TV's IndiaWaali Maa currently shows Rohan (actor Akshay Mhatre) getting arrested after a bank files an FIR against him for non-payment of dues. Sucheta, who plays the role of Kaku, also learns about the huge loan amount and slaps Rohan for lying to her.
Opening up on this to ETimes TV, Trivedi mentioned how it was challenging to shoot this heartbreaking scene where Kaku discovers the truth and slaps Rohan. She said, “I am a very calm person and when I came to know that Kaku had to slap Rohan, I was not convinced about it as I believe that slapping a co-actor is not right. I thought I wouldn’t be able to give the perfect shot. But production asked me to try it once and if it did not work, then the scene would be removed. I agreed to it.”
She added, "When I started doing this scene, I was still not sure whether I would be able to do it. I was thinking about all the ways to make the slap look real, without slapping him. Akshay actually encouraged me to slap him! Even the crew on set was making fun of how I was unable to slap him. Then they came up with a solution to make it look real. I had to lift my hand above his nose in a way so that it looked real. Rohan also took some time to give an authentic reaction, which was needed at that exact moment. We eventually shot it realistically. I’m just happy that I didn’t have to slap in real life and the scene also didn’t suffer. It actually came out nicely in the end.”
