Shekhar Suman Reveals Son Adhyayan Suffered Depression and Had Suicidal Thoughts, says Sushant's Death Can Trigger Him

After Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise, actor Shekhar Suman demanded a CBI probe and said that ‘there’s more than what meets the eye.’ The actor has now opened up about his son Adhyayan Suman and revealed that he underwent depression too.

Shekhar reveals that his son was depressed and claims the film industry gave him a hard time. He also adds that Adhyayan also had suicidal thoughts. "Sushant was like a son to me. I can understand his father's pain. This is because just like him, my son Adhyayan too has suffered depression and has gone through a similar phase. The film industry created several hurdles for him. Once, he even told me that he was having suicidal thoughts," Shekhar Suman told Mumbai Mirror.

The veteran actor recalls the time he used to peek into his son’s room at 4 or 5 am to check on him and would find him staring at the wall. He shares that the family never left Adhyayan alone and that it was difficult for them to pull his son out of that phase. 

Shekhar says that he is scared as he feels that Sushant’s death may have triggered his son Adhyayan. "It was difficult for us to get my son out of that bad phase of his life. But now, after Sushant's death, I am scared and worried once again," he said.

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide and was found hanging in his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020. He was 34 and was reportedly suffering from depression for the last six months.

Meanwhile, Shekhar Suman is on his way to Sushant’s house in Patna to meet his family.
