Sharmila Tagore admits that she once signed movies to pay her rent; reveals why she signed 'Gulmohar'

Bollywood veteran Sharmila Tagore is one of the most iconic actresses in the business. For all of her fans, seeing her on the big screen was a visual delight. With her next family drama Gulmohar, the actress is prepared to return and spread her charm on the big screen once more. Talking about the movie apart from her, Manoj Bajpayee also appears in key roles, while the trailer, the songs have already generated a lot of buzz. Well now Sharmila ji has talked openly about her early motivations for accepting projects in an interview with India Today.

During the interview, Sharmila Tagore was questioned about the factors that went into her decision to get on board with a particular movie. She retorted that professionals occasionally sign a film for monetary benefit in order to pay the rent. 

She continued saying, occasionally they agree to be in a movie to support a friend or someone who believes the movie will succeed if they are involved. But in the end, the actress claimed that she had chosen to work on a certain project because she enjoyed the storyline, but when asked why she chose to work on Gulmohar, Tagore stated, "At this moment in life, where I am today, Kusum was necessary."

Talking about the film, Gulmohar revolves around the multi-generation Batra family who are set to move out of their 34-year-old family home and how this triggers a re-discovery of the bonds for each one of them while grappling with personal secrets and insecurities.
