Sharad Malhotra doesn't hold back when he has an opinion about something. From being vocal about his depression to his struggle in Bollywood and coming back to TV, the actor has always spoken his heart out. He recently opened up about meeting Sushant Singh Rajput and said that the late actor always came across as a smiling face.

The Banoo Main Teri Dulhann actor revealed that though he did not know Sushant personally, they have bumped into each other at social gatherings. He said, "I have bumped into him at a couple of events and he always came across as a very smiling face. For me, Sushant was always a smiling guy. I knew him socially, we just met at events and parties, but I have never seen him with a frown or angry or upset."

Asked if he is following the recent developments in Sushant's case, he shared that he has been following the news quite religiously since the past couple of days, and added, "I want Sushant's family to get justice, moreover, I want them to get closure. Honestly, truth is what we want. What happened to him, we all need to know that. This can't be brushed under the carpet, the nation needs to know what exactly happened to him. I am keeping myself updated about all the developments. I have been following the Supreme Court hearings also."

Of late, a lot of celebrities from both TV and Bollywood came out in support of the CBI probe in Sushant's case. From Varun Dhawan to Kriti Sanon and Parineeti Chopra, they all posted #CBIforSSR showing their support to the social media campaign. Sharad feels that it can be because they realized it's high time they stood up for Sushant, and mentioned that it should be done with good intentions and there shouldn't be any hidden agenda behind it. He even appreciated Kangana Ranaut for being one of the first few people to be vocal about his case.

"As a fraternity, as a family, and him being a fellow member of the fraternity, it was very disturbing and saddening to see that very few people came to his support. Kangana was the first person to share her opinion on the entire episode and that shows she is very gutsy and she is very straight-forward. I can talk about myself, there were times when I did not want to say anything about Sushant, but when I was asked, I was free to express my views and thoughts and emotions about him. So many times it happens that people don't like to give their opinion, but when asked, I think then you should be vocal about it, because we all need to know what exactly happened. So now people are waking up and ready to share their opinion because maybe they realised that it's time for them to stand up. If you are standing up for him, it should be with some good intention, you shouldn't have a hidden agenda," he said.

On the work front, Sharad is currently seen in the fifth season of Ekta Kapoor's famous supernatural franchise "Naagin".
