Sharad Kelkar Defends Saif for his critical comments over Tanhaji: Maybe people shouldn’t blow things out of proportion!

Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan returned to the silver screen after a long gap. The two were last seen teaming up for Omkara (2003) and they surprised the fans with their upcoming period drama - Tanhaji. 

Saif who is often known for speaking his mind or doesn't usually hold back from being candid about his opinions criticized his own film. 

In a previous interaction with Film Companion, Saif criticized his own recently released film, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior in terms of the historical inaccuracies and India's history.

Even though the did wonders at the box-office and a huge number of the audience praised the film despite its inaccuracies. However, a section of the audience slammed the Jawani Jaaneman actor for his comments. 

Now in a recent interaction with Sharad Kelkar who played the role of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in ‘Tanhaji’ was quizzed about his opinion about the same as he defended Saif saying, “I think Saif didn’t mean it otherwise. The comment was blown out of proportion."

“A journalist had questioned me the same and I told her that you called Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as Shivaji, but others might not like it because a certain designation is given to him, similarly if Saif said something casually, it has been taken out of context. I’ve had interactions with Saif and I find him a very cool guy. Maybe people shouldn’t blow out things as it affects the star majorly when they get trolled on social media,” added Kelkar.

The 43-year-old actor was last seen in ‘Tanhaji’ with Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol. In a career span of 16-years Sharad Kelkar has played several diversified roles in television, Marathi, Bollywood and South films.
