Shahid Kapoor reveals wife Mira Rajput cried for 15 minutes after watching Jersey

Shahid Kapoor is getting ready for the debut of his new film Jersey. It was first scheduled to be released in December of last year, then on April 14, and finally, will now be out on April 22. The actor has been on a promotional bender for the past several weeks, and he and his leading woman, Mrunal Thakur, are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to promote the film. In a recent interview with Mid Day, the actor said that he had received his wife Mira Rajput's blessing before the film's premiere.

Mira Rajput is Shahid Kapoor's toughest critic, according to him. The actor added that there are occasions when his famous wife returns after a screening and tells him not to spend too much time on this specific picture and to move on. The Kabir Singh actor stated that Jersey had left an indelible mark on Mira.

When she first saw Jersey, the actor confessed that she hugged him and sobbed for 15 minutes. 

"I believe she was taken aback by the fact that I was portraying a father in the film. Jersey, to me, is the narrative of every married [person] in this nation - we all have goals when we're in our twenties. When you have obligations and children, you may abandon your passion in favour of doing what is practical. Mira had a better understanding of me as a person after viewing the video; she could relate to my hardships. She had a strong emotional response to the picture."

Mira Rajput was described by Shahid Kapoor as his "honest critic." The actor recalled an event from the Udta Punjab screening, saying that he viewed the movie with her. It had only been a year since they had gotten married, and by the intermission, Mira was sitting six feet away from Shahid, terrified of him, and asking him if he was like Tommy. The actor joked that she had a genuine reaction to every film she sees.
