Following the success of the first teaser, which was released over four months ago, Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur finally released the second trailer for their highly awaited sports drama 'Jersey' on Monday.
The two made an appearance at the launch ceremony and did so in style. Jersey is finally hitting theatres this month, following repeated release announcements and delays.
While the first trailer teased a story featuring Shahid as Arjun and Mrunal Thakur as Vidya, the new teaser delves deeper into his life as a loving father and an ex-cricketer, who dreams of making a comeback against all odds.
Shahid Kapoor, who plays Arjun, portrays a father to a young son, who aspires to play cricket professionally in the trailer. Arjun, on the other hand, battles with his own background as a failed cricketer while navigating his married life and unemployment. The first trailer was a huge hit, and it appears that the second one will be as well.
Sharing the trailer on social media, Shahid, who has been promoting the film for quite some time, wrote,
“Blood, sweat, emotions and a whole lot of love!♥️ Experience Arjun and his story! #JerseyTrailer dropping at 1pm today. @mrunalthakur @gowtamnaidu #AlluAravind @amanthegill @alluents @dilrajuprodctns @sitharaentertainments @bratfilmsofficial @zeemusiccompany @balajimotionpictures @penmovies #PenMarudharEntertainment @jerseythefilm.”
Veteran actor Pankaj Kapur also stars in the film, and the father-son duo will be seen together for the first time. Jersey, starring Shahid and Mrunal, is a Hindi adaptation of the Telugu film by the same name. The film will be released in theatres on April 14th.
