Shaheer Sheikh on wedding with Ruchikaa: This is exactly how I dreamt of

Shaheer Sheikh, who recently tied the knot with Ruchikaa Kapoor, is having a blissful time together. The duo opted for an intimate wedding and it was through social media that the fans came to know about their big day. We got in touch with the actor about his marriage, life now, and more.

What has changed after marriage?

Nothing much, honestly. I feel if you are friends with your partner, it makes a hell of a difference. If you are in your comfort zone with your partner, and if you are who you are, then life just gets better from there.

How was the reaction from friends and family?

Everyone was surprised actually, I did not expect that kind of a reaction but apparently, it meant a lot for some people. I got bad reactions as well, there were people who felt bad and offended. But I think if people understand me and they actually like me, they will understand my perspective in this and be happy in my happiness. 

The wedding was a low-key affair due to the coronavirus, how did you originally imagine it?

This was it, this is exactly how I dreamt of it, the only thing that could have topped this was that we could have eloped and gotten married. But I am very happy with the way things happened, I wanted to keep it personal and intimate, and that's how it happened. We will have a proper function in June, in the summers, in Jammu, for the relatives. All my friends want to village my village, and that's why we've made this plan, there is still a lot of time, and winters are quite cold there, so that's the plan.

When did you realize that she is the one?

We traveled a little together and it is very rare that you find someone with whom you can be yourself and at the same time have fun. So you know, it is surprising how most of the people look at it like you have fun with friends, but with your wife, you just do the daily stuff. But with her, I found a friend and so we could go crazy, travel, and be ourselves with each other. So I found that right comfort zone and I knew this was it.
