Shah Rukh Khan Mourns Kishori Amma’s Demise in a Heartfelt Post

Veteran actress Kishori Ballal left for heavenly abode on 18th February 2020 in a hospital in Bengaluru. She was best known for her work in the Kannada industry and is also fondly remembered as Shah Rukh Khan’s on-screen mother, Kaveriamma, in Swades.

SRK mourned his beloved Amma’s demise in a heartfelt post. Sharing a picture with her, he wrote on Instagram: “May her soul rest in peace. Kishori ‘Amma’ will be sorely missed. Especially how she used to reprimand me for smoking. May Allah look after her.”

Kishori Ballal was suffering from age-related illnesses and passed away in a Bengaluru hospital. Earlier, Swades director Ashutosh Gowarikar had grieved the loss in a social media post. He tweeted, “HEARTBROKEN! Terribly sad about the passing away of #KishoriBallal ji!! Kishori ji... you will be remembered for your generously kind, warm and affable persona! And your unforgettable performance as #Kaveriamma in #Swades !! You will surely be missed!!”

Ballal cherished a career span of over 15 years and had acted in films like Kahi, Hani Hani, Suryakanthi, Carry On Maratha, Aiyyaa, Lafangey Parindey, and many others.
