Shagun Sharma receive hatred and rape threats for her character in Ishq Par Zor Nahi; the actress responds

India Forums is back with yet another exciting update from the world of Indian Television.

Sony TV show Ishq Par Zor Nahin is getting all the love and adulation from the fans. The show is produced by Gul Khan and Deepti Kalwani. Param Singh, Akshita Mudgal, Shagun Sharma, Rajat Verma and Lakshya Handa forms the primary cast.

The current track of the show revolves around Ishqi breaking her marriage with Mayank after knowing about his truth which is connected to Sonu. Mayank manipulated Ahaan and made Ishqi look like a culprit which left Ahaan fuming in rage as Ishqi spoiled his best friend Mayank’s life and his family’s honour.

In a fit of rage, Ahaan vows to spoil Ishqi’s life and ruin her just like she ruined Mayank and his family. The show will soon take a six months' leap, post which Ahaan will be seen making Ishqi’s life a living hell.

While Ishqi aka Akshita Mudgal is getting all the love for her performance in the show, actress Shagun Sharma aka Sonu is seen bearing the brunt of her onscreen character.

Fans are furious on Sonu as she is not budging in letting the truth out in front of Ahaan and disclosing the reason why Ishqi broke all ties with Mayank. All this while Sonu has been extremely scared and petrified to reveal the truth to her family.

Shagun’s onscreen character ended up getting her a lot of hatred on social media. Fans who are against Sonu not letting the truth out, targeted Shagun on social media and hurled negative feedback and hate comments to her.

Things went out of hand when fans started mentioning Shagun’s family, her upbringings and sent her rape threats. Frustrated with the constant bickering on social media, Shagun took to twitter and asked her fans to understand the basic fact that she is just playing a role and that’s not her in real-life.

India contacted Shagun and in an exclusive chat, the actress quipped, “I am someone who always take criticism positively. I understand the fans’ sentiments and their attachments for certain characters and I always ignore such things. But today things blew out of proportion when I read a few comments related to my family and stuff. One comment read that I should commit suicide while others had rape threats. I thought it’s time I speak up against this insensitivity”.

Shagun further added, “I was a little apprehensive to post on twitter because I wasn’t sure as to if the fans would understand my point of view. But to my pleasant surprise, I came across many fans who understood me and stood by me”.

Well, we hope the fans stop targeting Shagun.

ChickenSoup 3 months ago @Forbidden_Rose Speaking facts is not hate. Instead of defending your disgusting country, accept your faults and try fixing your problems. You have people literally bathing in cow dung and you’re accusing me of being a hater? Maybe I am a hater. I have countless reasons to hate a filthy nation like India.
