Scam 1992 actor Hemant Kher on farmers' protest: We must listen to them and try to resolve their issues

There have been a series of protests in Punjab regarding the MSP, to which many celebrities reacted and even supported the farmers. Adding to their support, actor Hemant Kher, who comes from a family of farmers, shared his views and said that he is sure the Government will make a decision in favour of the farmers.

Talking about the current scenario, he said, ''I feel farmers are the most hardworking and humble lot of the population. They provide us with the basic necessity to stay alive, food. And believe me, it’s not easy to work around the year and grow food with the kind of farming infrastructure we have in India. We must respect, support, understand, and listen to them.''

About the protests, he went on to say, ''When families with kids, elders and everyone takes part in a protest, leaving their households, the issue has to be serious and that’s why, as one of the biggest democracy, we must listen to them and try to resolve their issues in best possible way. I think the government will be talking to them soon and I am sure the government will make a decision in favour of the country and farmers.''

Ask him if he feels that injustice has been done, he says, ''We are still in the middle of this crisis! We need to understand it before deciding about justice or injustice.''
