‘Sasural Genda Phool 2’ not a challenge for Shagun Sharma; she will surely win hearts: Lakshya Handa

Shagun Sharma, who is known for her recent stint in Ishk Par Zor Nahi, has been in the news once again as the actress is gearing up for her next show, Sasural Genda Phool 2 co-starring Jay Soni. The show has quite the fan base and with the actress turning lead for the same, there have only been good wishes for her so far. The core cast of the show has been retained which consists of actors like Jay Soni, Anita Kanwal, Sudhir Pandey, Jiten Lalwani, Suraj Thappar, Supriya Pilgaonkar among others.

In a recent promo, Shagun’s look has been out. It looks like the actress will essay a role of a thief or a con woman in the show. Shagun’s co-actors from ‘Ishq Par Zor Nahin’ have been ecstatic with her bagging the lead role and since they are like a young group of close-friends, we buzzed actor Lakshya Handa to know about his thoughts on Shagun’s new show as a lead. Lakshya played Shagun’s onscreen love-interest Raj in ‘Ishq Par Zor Nahi’.

Sharing his thoughts about Shagun bagging a lead role, Lakshya said, “She always deserved it. She was always a lead material be it with her acting or looks. She has worked really hard to be where she is right now and I am extremely happy to see her getting what she always wished for”.

When asked if they discussed about the show, he added, “Yes, we meet quite often and every time we meet these days, she keeps on talking about her show all the time; maybe because she’s very excited for this project. She shared her entire journey on how she bagged this show and the problems she faced but like a warrior, she cleared all the hurdles”.

We asked Lakshya if it will be a challenge for Shagun as she’s the new edition in the season 2 of the show while season one was a smashing hit, Lakshya quipped, “I don’t think it will be a challenge, infact, it will be added advantage for her, as season one already had a lot of fans and they will watch this one too and I am sure Shagun, with her talent, will win their hearts and make them her fans. I am sure after this show Shagun’s fan following will touch new heights”.

Sharing his thoughts on the promo, Lakshya added, “Yes I have seen the promo, I shared it on my social media too the day it came out, I really liked it. Infact, loved it. It has this cute family show vibe to it sprinkled with a touch of comedy. Also, I really liked the star cast of the show, it has some big names attached. Not being biased, but I loved Shagun’s character as she is playing a thief in it and it will be interesting to watch how she pulls this off “.
