Sara-Kartik’s Love Aaj Kal Faces Trouble: CBFC Slashes Intimate scenes and Abusive Terms!

Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan are all set to shine on the big screen with their electrifying chemistry. The two will be seen starring for the first time in Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal which is a sequel of the 2009 film of the same name starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. 

But, it seems CBFC might be a barricade to the film’s contemporary take over how love expressed back in the day and it is expressed in recent times. 

Sara-Kartik’s off-screen chemistry has been a talk of the town and while we contemplate the promos, it was clear that even in the film, their pairing is smoking hot. There were a few glimpses of their intimate scenes and it seemed like it’ll set the screens on fire this Valentine’s Day.

According to the reports from Bollywood Hungama, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the film with a U/A certificate but most of the intimate shots have been axed. Now, as per the recent cut list, the kissing scene, in the very beginning of the film, has been reduced to a flash and the lovemaking sequence has been reduced and modified. They also asked the makers to blur the visuals of cleavage that is shown after the intimate scene.

Apart from that, the certification board has also asked for the removal of shots of actors undressing, in a scene in the second half and audio censoring was also done.

A sexually abusive word was replaced with a less objectionable term, ‘a**’. The words ‘f**k’, ‘f*****g’ were muted. Finally, ‘Haraamzaadon’ was replaced with ‘Saale besharmo’.

The CBFC handed over the certificate on February 5. The total length of the film is 2 hours 21 minutes.
