Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra has bravely shared her horrifying experience of harassment while travelling on the Delhi metro. In an interview with Hauterrfly, she revealed that a few years ago, she was touched inappropriately by a man who had approached her for a picture. Shockingly, nobody came forward to help her during the incident. This incident comes in the wake of actress Aahana Kumra recently calling out a fan for putting his arm around her waist while taking a picture.

The actress disclosed that she was travelling home in the evening from college when a group of boys boarded the metro. She stated that they began to tease and touch her, continuing to do so until she got off the metro. Feeling helpless and fearing for her safety, she remained silent since she was alone. She mentioned that people often question why victims do not do anything, but at the moment, fear can overpower one's ability to respond. Survival becomes the primary concern.

To her dismay, the Badhaai Ho actress revealed that no one in the metro came to her aid. After getting off at Rajiv Chowk, she realized the boys were following her. Grateful for the crowded station, she rushed to the washroom and immediately called her father, asking him to pick her up.

Sanya also shared another horrific incident that occurred in Mumbai a few years ago after she had gained recognition in the film industry. While being spotted in public, a man approached her to take a picture and touched her buttocks. Despite her discomfort, the photographers present did not intervene or offer assistance. Outraged by the lack of support, Sanya called the man back and confronted him, expressing her anger and informing him that his actions were inappropriate.

These incidents highlight the prevalence of harassment and the need for increased awareness, education, and support systems to protect individuals from such experiences. Sanya Malhotra's courage in speaking out about her encounters with harassment serves as a reminder of the challenges many women face and the urgent need for change.

Sanya Malhotra was last seen in the film "Kathal," released on Netflix on May 19. The movie is set in a small town in India and revolves around a police investigation triggered by the disappearance of two prized jackfruits from a local politician's garden.
