Actors taking a break from the small screen is a rather common phenomenon these days but actor Shilpa Kadam did it back when it was a brave call and she was on her peak. Kadam became a household name as Dr. Simran in Sanjivani but following that, she decided to take a long break. While she did appear in a couple of shows post that, she wasn't to be seen in any TV show for over 15 years.

Now, the actor is all set and rolling as she is juggling two shows simultaneously in the form of Kaamna and Kabhie Kabhi Ittefaq Se (KKIS). Talking about it with ETimes TV, she said, “The daily soaps came to me one after the other. I was first approached for KKIS and around that time, they were also looking for someone to be paired with Manav Gohil. That’s how I ended up bagging both projects. Also, since the two shows are produced by the same makers, it is easier for me to adjust my dates.”

Talking about the long break, she said, “I experienced burnout and thought it would be a good idea to take a break from daily soaps. However, I continued with commercials and featured in some episodes. However, in retrospect, it probably wasn’t a very good decision. TV as a medium was picking up and taking a break then turned out to be a bad move. Things moved ahead and I fell behind. I was in a golden phase and I should have cashed in on it. It was quite difficult for me to get a foothold again when I decided to come back. I did a film in 2016. But I would call these two shows my comeback."

Kadam did appear in a couple of films a few years ago.
