Today, Bollywood actor Sanjay Kapoor completed 26-years in Bollywood. The actor has made it big in the industry with his sheer talent and performances in several iconic movies. The actor became an overnight star with his Bollywood debut in Satish Kaushik's directorial 'Prem' opposite Tabu.
Now, during a recent interaction with ETimes, Sanjay recalled his first shoot and how it was facing the camera for the first time. He also opened up about his experience working with Tabu and revealed the reason for his first shoot being the memorable one.
The Sirf Tum actor spoke about his first shoot for Prem and said, "It has been a long time but I still remember the first shot that I gave was for the song, 'Aati Nahi..'; this was even before 1995.” The actor pointed out that he will be moving from movies to OTT platforms, which is all the rage today.
The reincarnation drama starred Tabu alongside Sanjay Kapoor, however, she wasn't the first choice for the film. Furthermore, even director Satish Kaushik was also not going to be at the helm of the reincarnation drama.
Speaking of the same, Sanjay Kapur informed that the first time he faced the camera was with late actress Divya Bharti for a screen-test. He shared that they were shooting in National Park back then and it was Shekhar Kapur who was directing the film. While the team planned on cast Divya, things didn't fall in place.
“However, later, I did work with her in 'Kartavya'; unfortunately, she passed away mid-way and the film remained incomplete. That is a vivid yet tragic memory associated with the film," Sanjay Kapoor told ETimes.
The LOC Kargil actor shares his regrets over the lack of opportunity to collaborate with Tabu and highlights that it is on his wishlist. He said "It was great working with Tabu in 'Prem'. We both were new and raw back then and helped each other during the shoot. But we are both are doing some good work now and I am sure some project will bring us together soon. We have a long way to go. Though we don't talk daily, I am in touch with Tabu and we are great friends."
