The Vaastav star Sanjay Dutt remains to be a celebrated name in the industry with more than 35 years of experience in the business of cinema and skill. He made his big debut in 1981 with the film Rocky, and the rest is history. Having delivered one of the most exceptional films, Khalnayak, Sadak, Kurukshetra, Kaante, Agneepath, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, to just name a few, the list of his magnificent projects is phenomenally huge. His craft and his charismatic appeal towards his work need no introduction as his actions have always spoken louder than his words. However, besides his cinematic graph, he has been mired in a stump of controversies as well. Right from his early life drug abuse to his name being dragged in the Mumbai blast case, he has seen it all. He was also arrested under the provisions of the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) in 1993.

However, in 2007, he was cleared of the charges relating to the Mumbai blast, but the trauma did not end there. The court sentenced him to six years' rigorous imprisonment under Arms Act for illegal possession of weapons.

Years after the ordeal, Sanju and his family have moved ahead and are in a happy place in their lives now. The actor has a brigade of five big films in his pipeline and is also co-producing movies with his wife Maanayata.

in a recent interview, Sanju’s wife Maanayata Dutt, who stood by his side through his darkest times, opened up on how all this affected the actor's mental state as well as had an impact on the whole family.  She said, "Earlier, he used to be disturbed, his father didn’t live to hear the court say that he was not a terrorist and acquit him from TADA charges. That had tarnished the family name and bothered him for years."

To which, Sanjay Dutt replied and said, "The dark clouds are gone, I am finally at peace. Like Chintu (Rishi Kapoor) sir, I am happiest on a film set and now, I can do the work I want to do."

Dutt's have decided to let go of the past agony and are all set to keep moving ahead with pride and full spirit. The couple co-produced their first, titled Prassthanam, a remake of a Telugu film, and it already has started to make a lot of buzz among the fans. Apart from Dutt, the film also stars Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, and Ali Fazal and is slated to release on 20 September.

On the professional front, Sanju baba was last seen in Kalank, which failed to impress the audience on the box office. But no worries, the actor has a plethora of films ahead, one being a historical period drama, Panipat, which also stars Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, and is slated to release on 6 December 2019. And, Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2, action-adventure Shamshera and Bhuj: The Pride of India, scheduled to release in the coming year.
