Sanjay Dutt and Manyata land into legal trouble for Prasthanam

With just two more days to go for the unveiling of either the first look or the teaser of Sanjay Dutt's home production Prasthanam, it seems that there will be an unforeseeable delay in the same. Sanjay Dutt will turn 60 this year on July 29th and his fans were expecting that they will get to see Prasthanam's first look on the same day.

But recent proceedings might make it difficult for Sanjay to go ahead with his plans. As per the reports in a leading entertainment portal, Sanjay and Manyata Dutt have been served a legal notice from Shemaroo. The reports say that the rights to Prasthanam belong to Shemaroo and Sanjay Dutt has no rights to make the movie. He has been asked to reply to the notice within 72 hours.

Ketan Maroo, head honcho of Shemaroo, told the tabloid, “Yes, we have sent the legal notice. We obviously will demand a certain amount. The rights of ‘Prasthanam’ belong to us and we had brought them from Gemini. We have no intentions of creating a needless issue. We are ready to sit across the table and resolve the issue.”

Prasthanam is the remake of a 2010 Tamil movie by the same name. Shemaroo claims that they had bought the rights to it from Gemini. Recently Sanjay Dutt announced that the movie will release on September 20th. Manyata, who is the producer of the movie is in a legal pickle too as the rights of the movie are now questionable.
