Actress Sanchita Puri, who is best known for her portrayal of Prerna in Ginny Weds Sunny, has one more passion, other than acting. She is a certified yoga instructor and a strong advocate of practising yoga.

The actress exclusively told us how Yoga helped her during the excruciating days of the lockdown and also helped her in the process of acting.

This yogic lifestyle which I adapted before I started acting as really helped me through the process of acting. It also helped me to fight my days during the pandemic. During the lockdown, I was really impatient and there was lot of anxiety because of the Covid situation but with the help of yoga and pranayama, I was able to be creative and be productive in terms of my work. My focus, which is a really important part for an actor was maintained and I could focus on things which I wanted to do” says Sanchita.

Further, she also tells us how incorporating Yoga in her lifestyle helped her to improve several acting skills like breath work and body movements.

The breath work which is really important for an actor was also happening well for me because I was doing my Pranayam daily. The body movement which Yogic lifestyle provides you is also a plus. I feel involving yoga helps you to become a good actor or probably be an efficient person but it really evolves you emotionally, spiritually and it really changes you, transforms you as a person”, she adds.

The actress, who has also worked in the web space with projects like Baarish, The Final Call, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story says:

During the pandemic, I did yoga daily for more than seven months and every month I used to see the change not just in my body but how peaceful and calmer I was as compared to the people around. Yoga gives you a lot of clarity of mind and spiritually it uplifts you.”
