Sanaya Irani recalls being judged for how she looks when she was young

Television actor Sanaya Irani recently got candid about recalling how she was judged for how she looked and passed rather mean comments. She also revealed in a conversation with Zoom’s By Invite Only how back when she was in her boarding school in Ooty, she was looked at differently. She added how since she is relatively fair, she was faired back then, and people told her things like 'white cockroach’ or ‘lizard’.

She also recalled a gamily calling her a monkey. She went on to say, “I heard a Gujarati family once say, ‘She looks like a monkey’. They were saying it in Gujarati but I knew Gujarati, they didn’t know that. We were in school, eating ice cream and they were like ‘look at her’ because I had red cheeks, red nose, all of that. They were like, ‘She looks like a monkey.’ So, for me, when people looked at me, I always connected it to ‘they are going to say something weird about me’.” 

Sanaya also mentioned how she stood out from the rest when she was younger because of the way she looked. However, she did not like that and wanted to blend in with everyone.

Meanwhile, Sanaya is popular for her role of Gunjan in Miley Jab Hum Tum and ever since, she etched her name in everyone's hearts with the role.
