In South India, it is not uncommon for fans to construct temples in honor of their favorite superstars, ranging from Rajnikanth to Nayanthara, Hansika, and Namitha and others. These are just a few of the names, who have had temples modelled after them in Tamil Nadu. Samantha, who is one of the most famous actresses in India with a massive fan following, has now joined this special list. The temple, which is located in Alapadu village near Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh, was constructed by a die-hard fan of hers called Tenali Sandeep.

For the unversed, the story is that the fan has never had the chance to meet Samantha in person. He says that he became a fan of her not just for her film work, but also for her charity work through the Pratyusha Foundation. Samantha and her team have not yet responded to the temple's construction, but it is expected that they will do so soon.

The centrepiece of Samantha's temple will be a massive idol of her head. It is set to officially open on the 28th of April, and fans are excited to visit the place and pay their respects to their beloved actress.

Regarding Samantha's film career, she was last seen in the underperforming period romance Shaakuntalam, which received mixed reviews from critics. She will next appear in the romantic drama Khushi alongside Vijay Deverakonda, which is being shot in Kashmir. The shooting of the film has wrapped up, and Samantha is currently working on the Indian edition of the Amazon series Citadel, directed by Raj and DK, where she will star alongside Varun Dhawan in the lead.
