Sam Bahadur: Vicky Kaushal kick starts prep for Meghna Gulzar's directorial

Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur biopic caused a stir when the lead was confirmed, and the actor's appearance as the Field Marshal of India was previously posted on social media. 

Vicky formally announced on Tuesday that he is starting preparation for the film, which will be directed by Raazi's Meghna Gulzar. Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh also play significant roles in the film.

Vicky took to Instagram to post a photo of the film's screenplay as well as some images sent to the actor to help him get in the shoes of the character. Sharing the post, Vicky penned, "Here we go… Prep starts!!! #SAMBAHADUR @meghnagulzar @rsvpmovies."

In the film, Fatima Sana Shaikh will be seen as Indira Gandhi. According to recent reports, Fatima began preparing for the project some time ago. Fatima has been reading books about Indira Gandhi in order to truly comprehend her and her administration as Prime Minister.

She has also seen a number of documentaries in order to perfect the intricacies and gestures of her character. It's a big responsibility, and Fatima wants to do it right, the report added. Meanwhile, Sanya Malhotra will play Sam Manekshaw's wife, Siloo Manekshaw, in the film.

Talking about Vicky's work engagements, apart from this the actor has a bunch of projects in the pipeline. He will be a part of 'Govinda Naam Mera' alongside Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar. Vicky was recently in Croatia to film a romantic song for his untitled film with Tripti Dimri which is being helmed by Anand Tiwari. The actor also completed filming for Laxman Utekar's romantic-comedy, featuring Sara Ali Khan.
