Salman Khan's Blackbuck poaching case yet to receive the final verdict!

The blackbuck poaching case is yet to receive the final verdict and yet again the judgement has been stalled until the next hearing date. While no development was seen today at the Jodhpur bench of the Rajasthan High Court, the case has been adjourned to September 16 on a plea of Rajasthan Government against the acquittal of Salman Khan’s co-stars, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre.

It seems the case might be prolonged for a few years more.

The story dates back to 1998 when Salman Khan was accused of killing blackbucks during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hai (1998). However, as the case took a new turn, Rajasthan High Court issued fresh notices to actors Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam Kothari and Tabu after they got acquitted in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case on April 2018.

Salman, on the other hand, was the only one from the gang who got convicted under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act by the CJM's court along with a 5-year jail term.

The first time when Salman had appeared before the court in the hearing of this case, his statement was, "We saw a wounded deer. I stepped out of the jeep and fed the deer a biscuit. That’s all that happened. Then we drove off." 

While the Rajasthan HC convicted Salman in April last year, all the other accused were freed of any charges until the government challenged their acquittal.

The reports initially suggested that the reason why Saif, Tabu, Neelam, Sonali got acquitted in the case could be because of the difficulty in furnishing any evidence linking their involvement in killing the blackbuck.

Meanwhile, the appeal of Salman Khan, who is currently on bail, is still pending before the High court.
