Salman Khan opens up on his STARDOM & TOUGH COMPETITION with..

The revealed to be working harder in films due to the talent and stardom of young stars.

Superstar Salman Khan stepped in the world of Bollywood in the year 1988 with his debut film, Biwi Ho Toh Aisi helmed by Vicky Bhandari. Post that, the actor started getting offers as lead in films like, Maine Pyaar Kiya, Sanam Bewafa, Andaz Apna Apna, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Karan Arjun, Judwaa, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Bandhan, Jaanam Samjha Karo, Biwi No.1, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Hum Sath Sath Hai, Hello Brother to name a few. Talking about his latest film, he was last seen in Tiger Zinda Hai which was a blockbuster film. He will now be seen in much-buzzed Race 3 and later his most anticipated film, Bharat.

Looking at his career graph the actor wasn't a star at the start but, his persona, unique style and choice of films gained his maximum amount of fan following in the country. Well, his many films have worked and even tanked at some point of his career, he has had his share of controversies which never seems to stay away from him but, his fans are the ones who have stayed with him and backing him all the time which has surely made him a superstar even at his 50s amongst other Khan and Kumar.

However the actor reveals that previously when he started his career he wondered if he would ever be able to match the stardom of the veteran actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar and more and now, the actor thinks it's even more difficult to match the stardom and level of acting that the young ones like Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt have in them.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, he opened up about stardom and competition with the young actors.

"When I started out in the late 1980s, I looked up to my seniors in the industry and wondered if we would ever be able to match the stardom of Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan. It seemed impossible at the time. Today, I think keeping up with the juniors and their fan-following is ten times harder. None of us older stars is letting go of anything easily, and we're going to give the younger ones a hard time, but it's not easy."

He adds, "I'm working harder because the newcomers are so good at what they do. Actors, my age can't be complacent about our physique, films and acting."

When asked does he see himself in any of the young actors, the superstar answered, "Varun Dhawan."

"He has grown up in front of me and has some of me, Sanjay Dutt and Govinda in him and he has imbibed only our good qualities," said Salman Khan.
