Actor Salman Khan has paid tribute to veteran singer Asha Bhosle, who passed away on April 12 at the age of 92. Her death has led to an outpouring of condolences from across the film and music industries, with many acknowledging her long standing contribution to Indian cinema.
Sharing a post on X, Salman Khan expressed his grief and described her passing as a significant loss. He wrote, “A huge loss for Indian music.... Heartbroken to hear about Asha ji. An irreplaceable voice, Your songs will continue to inspire generations.” His message reflected the sentiment seen across social media, where artists and fans have been remembering her work and legacy.
Asha Bhosle’s career spanned several decades, during which she recorded songs across languages and genres. Her voice became a familiar presence in films, including those featuring Salman Khan. Some of the songs associated with his films include “Lucky Lips” from Lucky: No Time for Love (2005), “Yaara O Yaara” from Jeet (1996), and “Hai Hai Mirchi” from Biwi No.1 (1999).

The singer had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital prior to her passing, following health related complications. Reports indicated that she had been unwell for some time before her condition worsened.
According to family members, arrangements have been made for a public homage. Her mortal remains will be kept at her residence in Lower Parel from 11 am, allowing admirers to pay their respects. The last rites are scheduled to take place later in the day at Shivaji Park at 4 pm.
With her passing, the industry has lost a voice that remained active and relevant across decades, leaving behind a legacy shaped by consistent work and wide reach.
