Coronavirus pandemic has left the world in terror as people across the globe have adopted self-quarantine. However, this has also left the needy without food and strained their livelihood. Amid the global emergency, several Bollywood celebrities have come ahead to help the poor and needy.
The Producers Guild of India has set up a relief fund for daily wage workers who will be hit by the complete shutdown of all film, television, and web series industry. The coronavirus pandemic has forced a dramatic closure of the industry as a precautionary measure as the shoots have been called-off. Now, a recent report in the Times of India claimed that Salman Khan has helped crew members who were under financial crisis.
The report suggested that crew members from Salman’s upcoming film, ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ were helped the actor himself by depositing money into the accounts of the crew members despite no shoots who were scheduled to work between March 26 to April 2.
Apart from this, Salman reportedly pledged to donate for 25,000 daily wage artistes of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), whose livelihood has been severely affected owing to the lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Earlier, the FWICE president BN Tiwari said, "We have written to Amitabh Bachchan and trying to contact Salman Khan to help us raise funds for the needy daily wage workers of the film industry.''
Meanwhile, many Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Bhushan Kumar, Maniesh Paul, Randeep Hooda and others have come forward to donate for the PM-CARES fund.
On the work front, Salman will next be seen in ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ and he will be seen reuniting with his ‘Bharat’ co-star Disha Patani in the film.
