Salman Khan death threat: Maharashtra home department claims Lawrence Bishnoi sent letter to extort money

It's been around ten days since Salman Khan caused a stir after allegedly receiving a threat note. His father claimed to have discovered the threat letter during his morning walk on June 5 with the words "Tumhara Moose Wala kar denge (You will end up like Moose Wala)". 

There have been claims about Lawrence Bishnoi's participation in the case while the Mumbai police have been examining it. And now, the Maharashtra Home Department claims to have discovered why Lawrence Bishnoi's group sent the threat letter to Salman.

According to ANI, the Maharashtra Home Department claims that Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang threatened the Ek Tha Tiger actor in an attempt to extort money. A tweet by ANI read, “As per info from Maharashtra Home Dept, the reason for the Bishnoi gang to threaten actor Salman Khan & his father Salim Khan was to create an atmosphere to show their power. The gang was preparing to extort money from big businessmen & actors”.

Dilip Walse Patil, Maharashtra's Home Minister, spoke about it and said, “When Moose Wala was murdered, the Bishnoi gang tried to take advantage of it to create a reputation for themselves. Some people were arrested but all facts haven't come to the fore. Police are investigating the matter, it'll take a few more days & then there will be clarity”.

He further said that, while Santosh Jadhav and others were apprehended, there were few connections to Salman Khan's threat letter issue. He did, however, ensure that the cops are looking into the incident. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Home Department boosted Salman Khan's safety.

In terms of his professional life,  Salman is now filming Farhad Samji's Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, which also stars Pooja Hegde, and Shehnaaz Gill.
