Saaho makers couldn’t afford Katrina; Replaced her with Shraddha!

A lot of buzz has been revolving currently around Prabhas and Shraddha's fees for Saaho...

The much-awaited multi-lingual film starring South sensation Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor is all set to hit the theatres in a few days from now. The action-thriller is currently the talk of the town, which has left all the fans excited for its release. The makers are giving their best shot with their 10 on 10 promotions. However, amidst all the buzz, the latest one is regarding the pay scale of the lead actors of the film.

Recently, there were reports that stated Shraddha has received Rs 7 crore for her role in Saaho. However, sources close to the film claim it to be false reports and also made more revelations regarding the film.

“This is only her publicity machinery at work. An impression is being created that she has been paid a certain amount in Tollywood to increase her fee in Bollywood. But the truth is that she has been paid a far less amount,” quoted a source to Deccan Chronicle.

The report further revealed that not Shraddha Kapoor but Katrina Kaif was the first choice for Saaho, who asked for a higher film fee and was eventually turned down.

“The Saaho makers couldn’t afford to pay Katrina Rs 5 crore, which is how much she asked for. The budget for hiring heroines in Telugu cinema is a lot less compared to Bollywood. These girls from Mumbai who work in Telugu cinema work for much less money in the South than what they demand in Mumbai. To spread the rumour that Shraddha got Rs 7 crore for Saaho is damaging for both the South and Bollywood film industries,” stated the source. Shraddha Kapoor was paid, “Close to Rs 3 crore,” the source reveals.

Prabhas-Shraddha starrer Saaho is slated to hit the big screens on August 20.
