Rutuja Sawant On Chashni Going Off Air: My character was under utilised in the show

Star Plus's recently launched show Chashni is all set to go off air because it failed to get numbers for the channel. The show was launched in March. Actress Rutuja Sawant, who essayed the role of 'Natasha' in the show, talks about the show wrapping up within a couple of months.

Rutuja says,"A show ending within a couple of months is extremely disappointing, but we actors can't do anything because nothing is under our control. When I first got to know about the news, I was really shocked because this was something unexpected. The show had just started to get more interesting and then there was this news. The concept, actors, storyline, everything was pretty good. I wish we had time to build a place in the audience's hearts. But at the end of the show, it's the fate of the show."

Further talking about her character and revealing its non development in the show, the actress says,"It was a good opportunity but I feel that my character was under-utilised in the show. 'Natasha' was such a strong and layered character that a lot of things could have been done around my character. I had made a graph of my character in my mind and the reality wasn't the same. I wish that my character would have been given more importance in the show, but now the show itself is ending in just a couple of months."

Professionally, Rutuja was last seen in the colors  show 'Pishachini.'Apart from this, she is popularly known for her acting chops in the Star Plus show Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali and Colors show Choti Sarrdaarni.
