Rohan Mehra: Shooting My Song ‘Gustakhiyan’ In -4 degress Was The Real Challenge

Presented by Times Music, Gustakhiyan starring Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlaata Hai fame, Rohan Mehra and debutante Vaishnavi Anthale is releasing tomorrow. The beautiful track is all about falling in love with your partner. Gustakhiyan will make you fall in love with the song instantly. 

We at India Forums got in touch with Rohan Mehra, who is playing the male lead in the romantic number. The actor spoke to us about how much he loves romantic songs, difficulties he faced while shooting, and a lot more.

Excerpts from the interview:-

1) Tell us about your upcoming track Gustakhiyan.

Gustakhiyan as a track is very dear to me. We shot the video a month before the lockdown was announced. The song has been shot in Kyrgyzstan in -4 degrees. We wanted that the song should be all about love and romance. The main purpose of shooting the track at such a location was to make people fall in love with Gustakhiyan instantly. Gustakhiyan is all about love and the teaser and poster speak volumes about what the track wants to convey to the audience.

2)What problems did you face while shooting?

As I said earlier, we shot at -4 degrees. It was snowing in Kyrgyzstan which made it very difficult for us to shoot. I can recall a specific shot where I was supposed to ride a bike and the snow made it extremely difficult. We started shooting at 5:30 a.m. early morning in chilly cold weather. We used to shoot a scene and ran straight inside (laughs).

3)After featuring songs related to heartbreak, what compelled you to take up Gustakhiyan?

Well, personally, I love romantic tracks. Gustakhiyan is such a beautiful track with soulful lyrics, romantic music that I fell in love with the track as soon as I heard it. Gustakhiyan will make you believe in fairy tales. I feel the world needs positivity, for now, there is too much negativity to take in. After being a part of sad and heartbreaking tracks, this song feels like a fresh breeze of love. People have loved the poster and teaser of the track. I hope they love the song too.

Gustakhiyan featuring Rohan Mehra and Vaishnavi Anthale is all set to release tomorrow.
