The Batman sequel has been announced, with Robert Pattinson reprising his role as the caped crusader. Warner Bros. revealed the big news at CinemaCon 2022, disclosing that the new version will have Matt Reeves return as the writer and director for the follow-up after the accomplishment of the first, which became the highest-grossing film of the year at the US box office.

The Batman was well received by moviegoers, who hailed Pattinson for his dreary portrayal of the dark knight. The movie depicted Bruce Wayne as a young man and as somebody who is just starting out as a superhero in Gotham.

The movie also included a post-credits scene starring Barry Keoghan as the Joker, but it has yet to be confirmed whether the film's forthcoming sequel will continue with that plotline. Catwoman was played by Zoe Kravitz, Alfred Pennyworth was played by Andy Serkis, Penguin was played by Colin Farrell, and Gotham City's police chief, James Gordon was played by Jeffrey Wright.

During the CinemaCon event, Matt Reeves made a relatively short appearance and talked about the sequel as well as thanked fans for their support for the first one. According to Entertainment Weekly, when asked about Batman's next chapter, he said, "This is thrilling for me," and that he is "excited" to return to the world for the sequel.

While the director did not provide any additional details regarding the sequel, fans will have to sit tight a little longer to find out who Pattinson's Batman will face in the impending film.
