MTV’s popular adventure reality show Roadies wrapped up its sixteenth season. Roadies is known for its daredevil tasks, politics, and controversies where even friends turn into foes. Like every season, this one was no less than a battlefield. However, with firm determination and confidence, participant Arun Sharma from gang Raftaar emerged victoriously. He was one of the contestants who was eliminated but made a comeback as a wild card entrant in the game.

In an exclusive interview with India Forums, Arun opened up about his journey from a village in Kashmir to Roadies Real Heroes.

How does it feel on winning the season?

Winning the show is unbelievable, it's like a childhood dream come true, all the struggles paid off really well.

What made you go for Roadies in the first place?

I’m a roadies fan from my childhood and I have been watching the show since then. I started watching Roadies from season three. During that time, I also completed my engineering and worked on my business to finance my education then I felt it was time to pursue my dream as I became independent. I felt like I have to go for Roadies and I want to try at least once in my life and to know how it feels standing in the auditions queue. I got rejected in the Kaling round, saying that you are too strong and sweet, that rejection hit me a lot and then I went as a wild card.

Did you feel any pressure after coming back as a wild card entrant?

Yes, of course! You are not welcomed, it's like a jungle full of wild animals, who only look for hunting and wanted to remove me from there. It feels as if you have to come to a school in mid-semesters where all other kids are friends with each other except you. Not even gang leaders, they are not good to you, only Rannvijay sir was there, who actually saw potential in me and was always there. I used to listen to his advice and eventually, I started mixing up with other contestants but still I was a target throughout the journey. I was voted out but I made my place in the game again then my entire gang was knocked out because they wanted us to be out.

How would you describe your entire Roadies journey?

My entire journey in Roadies was like Mowgli from The Jungle Book, who takes his place among the wolves. In the jungle, everybody wants you out and no one likes you but you still keep doing good and reach the finale.

You were the only member in gang Raftaar while others were eliminated soon, did you feel any pressure?

My only pressure was that if I fail to perform my task or if I come last, I have to go home and won’t get any more chances to be in the game.

Congratulations Arun for winning the show!
