MX Player which has enthralled the audience with it's large variety of content over the years is back with yet another interesting series titled Pati Patni Aur Woh. This 10 episodic MX Original Series is an entertaining story of a husband whose wife has passed away, but the catch is that her soul is stuck in this world. Her ultimate wish is to see her husband re-married, but plans go awry when he actually happens to find ‘the one’.

Directed by Nisheeth Neerav Neelkanth, the series stars Anant Vidhaat, Vinny Arora and Riya Sen in the lead roles. We at India Forums got in touch with Riya who plays the character of Rimjhim in the show where she talked to us about her character, experience, fun moments from sets, challenges faced and much more.

1. First of all, can you tell us something about your character in the series?

I play a Bengali girl, Rimjhim and she lives in Mathura with her parents. She is very simple and she just believes in a very simple life along with romance.

2. What compelled you to take up this project?

I really loved my character and all the characters actually. I liked the fact that when I read the script and the synopsis, it was very simple. What you see is what you get. There is no drama, it's just very light hearted and pleasant. So that's what I really liked about it and I instantly said that I want to do this.

3. How was the experience working with the entire team and the cast?

I had a blast, I was in Mathura for one month and I just fell in love, I made it my home. I didn't really want to leave. We finished shooting just before the new year. I actually wanted to stay back for new year because that's such a good time and my family were like, 'come back, the shoot is over'. I had a great time, I drove my director crazy because he is so funny. Vinny, Anant and Saksham, we became best friends and we are still such great friends till today. It felt like it was just meant to be, we were meant to be doing this together.

4. Do you recall your favourite moment from the sets?

I think my favourite moment was the suhagraat scene where Anant takes my ghoonghat up to see my face. So that scene was actually shot towards the end of the shoot. By then, I don't know why I started finding my director Nisheeth very funny as a person. So I wouldn't stop laughing and Anant wouldn't stop laughing and he was getting so bugged with me. Everytime they said action, I was hiding under the ghoonghat and was laughing and giggling non stop. I think I must have laughed for about three hours. Even till today when I see his face, I laugh.

Oh funniest incident, I played a prank on Nisheeth also. We were shooting in a shop in Mathura which is supposed to be Anant's shop because he's a shopkeeper for ladies undergarment.

On the last day of the shoot, of course I found my director such a funny person and so serious and always trying to finish things off fast, I went to him. The police was controlling the crowd and we had to finish shooting quickly and there was a lot of pressure on him. I love to see him when he is under pressure because no one was listening to him. So I went in the middle of the shop, I fell down and pretended to faint. And everyone came running to me and pick me up to take me to the hospital. Nisheeth was shouting and shouting, then he realized that it was a prank and he wanted to stab me.

5. Did you undergo any special preparation for the role?

No, I did a lot of workshops, I had my tutor and I did workshops. I got a lot of difficult lines but I'm glad that I did it. But Anant is also such a good actor, he helped me a lot.

6. What was the most challenging part about shooting the series for you?

The timings. Because you know as movie actor, you get certain hours on set. For me, I was like I need my sleep and all but I didn't let me do that. I had to shoot just with everyone else. So we were shooting for 16-17 hours a day and it was showing on my face, I was looking so tired. The challenging part was the zero sleep in the shoot.
