Riteish Deshmukh turns director and wife Genelia Deshmukh to star in Ved

Riteish Deshmukh is all set to make his debut as a director for his marathi film Ved, and as he debuts as a director, his wife Genelia Deshmukh debut as an actress with the film.

In 2003, Riteish Deshmukh made his acting debut in the Hindi film Tujhe Meri Kasam opposite Genelia D'Souza.

Almost two decades later, Riteish will take the charge from behind the camera as he directs the Marathi film Ved, which means madness.

Riteish took to Twitter on Wednesday to share the poster of the film, which will also star his wife, actress Genelia Deshmukh. Genelia will make her long-awaited return to the big screen with this film. "After being in front of the camera for 20 years, I take a big leap to stand behind it for the first time. As I direct my first Marathi film, I humbly ask you all for your good wishes and blessings. Be a part of this journey, be a part of this madness. ??? (Madness),"Riteish wrote while sharing the film's poster.

It is an Ajay-Atul musical presented by Mumbai Film Company. In addition to Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, Jiya Shankar appears in the film. Genelia, who has hit films in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, will make her Marathi debut with Ved.
