Rishi Kapoor was ‘Okay’ If Ranbir and Alia Wanted to Have an Intimate Wedding with 45 People: I Respect My Son’s Privacy

Actor Ranbir Kapoor lost his father and veteran superstar Rishi Kapoor to cancer. Rishi was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and passed away due to leukaemia at the age of 67 on April 30. 

Throughout his battle against cancer, his wife Neetu Singh was his biggest pillar of strength. Besides, his son Ranbir along with girlfriend Alia Bhatt too stood like a rock beside him in the last few weeks. 

Alia shares a close rapport with the Kapoor family and was around Rishi to take care of him in his difficult times. She also flew down to New York when Rishi was there for his treatment. Even during his last moments of life, Alia did not leave his side for a moment and also attended his last rites along with the entire Kapoor family,

Rishi Kapoor had expressed his desire to see his son Ranbir getting married. But owing to the fact that RK is a very private person, the Bobby actor had stated that he was okay if Ranbir wanted to have an intimate wedding with only 45 people.

In Rishi’s autobiography ‘Khullam Khulla’, written by Meena Iyer, the author revealed the details about the same and quoted when Rishi had said, “Rishi Kapoor said to me that he would be okay if Ranbir wanted an intimate wedding. ‘It's their call. I am okay with 45-odd people too. I will tell my friends, well-wishers to bless them. I will apologise and explain that everyone couldn't be invited because Ranbir is a private person. I respect his privacy.”

Besides, Rishi also wanted to get a precious birthday gift for Alia and even wanted to take her and Ranbir out for dinner. Unfortunately, all of that is far from turning reality now as the actor left for heavenly abode.

Meanwhile, there were reports of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt getting married in a winter wedding in December, but no new updates have surfaced on the same.
