Richa Chadha regularly Donates 10-20 kilos of groceries to a local Gurudwara for feeding daily wage workers!

The shocking and unprecedented exodus of daily wage workers had spread concern across India. The government tried their best to contain the situation and the immigrants were temporarily sent to the camps. However, due to the lack of food, some fail to get rid of their hunger. 

Meanwhile, several celebrities have come forward to help the government to provide necessary rations. 

Like other celebs, Richa Chadha is also doing her bit amidst this health scare. As a humanitarian gesture, the actress has started donating food to a local gurudwara, who has been providing food for the daily wage workers and assisting the unemployed in this difficult time. 

In a conversation with Mumbai Mirror, Richa talked about the donation of groceries and said that “Our humanity is being tested”. 

When I contacted them, they said they will accept ration and not money. So I went with the groceries I could procure nearby, which was little, like 10-20 kilos. Now I have learned that they need as much as 250 kilos every single day, so I am figuring out a wholesale place that can get me grain and pulses in that quantity. Our humanity is being tested. This pandemic is bringing out the worst and best in humans.

Richa has joined the league of many celebrities donating graciously during this tough time that the nation is facing. Actor Anushka Sharma, her cricketer-husband Virat Kohli, and Kartik Aaryan, Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan among others pledged money to various relief funds aimed at combating the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
