RRR, helmed by SS Rajamouli, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, is one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2022. Since its premiere in March 2022, the Pan-Indian action-drama has shattered multiple box-office records.
However, since the film's debut on Netflix, cinema fans all around the world have noticed hints of a gay relationship in the picture. Some people loved it, while others despised it. Notably, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, better known as RGV, who had previously commented on RRR's success, responded to a story on a section of netizens dubbing RRR a "gay film" on Thursday.
The ANI report shared by RGV, said many viewers, particularly in the West, were tweeting that RRR was a gay romance, and how much they enjoyed it. Sharing a news report, Ram Gopal Varma tweeted, “I was right". Many users responded to his tweet.
Soon after the movie's release, many people from India also took to Twitter and termed RRR a queer movie. One user wrote, “Watched RRR, so basically it's like your everyday South Indian Movie, but with gay relationship.” Many others wrote similar things and dubbed it to be a gay love story, romance between 2 boys, and many such things.
RRR is a Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam film starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Alison Doody, Olivia Morris, and Ray Stevenson that is currently streaming on Netflix in Hindi and Zee5 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Only two weeks after its release, the film surpassed the 1000 crore club globally.
RRR is a film set in 1920s Delhi that tells the narrative of two men, Ramaraju (Ram Charan) and Bheem (Jr NTR), who grow close friends during British rule in India, but have a different vision and means to gain freedom.
The companionship between Ram Charan and Jr NTR has been praised by both critics and fans in the film.
